ABOUT US.
To experiment.
To collaborate.
To bridge cultures.
To make films.
Avanoki is a youth-led cinema collective based in Seoul. We explore new cinematic possibilities through production, curation, publishing and cultural projects.
The name combines Avant, from avant-garde, and Kino, meaning cinema across several European languages.
Our aim is not only to make films, but to build a space where young people can develop their own visual language, share work and support one another’s creative practice.
Meet the people →2026 — Avanoki begins.
Film production, curation and the first identity of the collective take shape in Seoul.
2026 — Objects 001.
The first objects and printed matter are developed to support future productions and youth cinema initiatives.
Next — Youth Cinema.
Workshops, screenings, partnerships and future microgrants expand the collective beyond its own films.
